Yakubu Dati

Yakubu Dati

Yakubu Dati is a Nigerian administrator and policymaker, who served as a former local government executive and multiple times commissioner overseeing the management and administration of Plateau State key ministries, including Lands, Survey, and Town Planning. In the federal government, he served in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and later in aviation.

His interest is in policies and initiatives aimed at sustainable development. He finds his greatest satisfaction when helping constituents solve their problems. He has been involved in some big bills and policies, but he recalls the urbanization of cities and automation of the Ministry of Lands, Survey, and Town Planning, which makes land available, accessible to poor and vulnerable in Plateau State, to be one of the most impactful.

His interest in climate change and energy issues grew out of his concern for the impact of bad air on our health and the economy. Yakubu would remove barriers, guide policy, and let changes get to the people quickly. He is excited about the new energy economy that will build a sustainable, carbon and pollution-free energy future for our health and the environment. He also holds a Master’s degree in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Jos.
